Dan Benardot of Georgia State University is a dietician and sports nutritionist to national and Olympic champions. As one way to make an athlete's eating plan easier, Dr. Benardot recommends meal splitting. This allows you to cook just three meals and spread them across six feedings. "Eat half of what you normally have for breakfast, and eat the other half three hours later," says Benardot. "Do the same for lunch and dinner. This will spread out the calories and ensure that you do not eat more than you're currently eating."
