Foods to eat all the time

  • Blueberries (and other berries) – They prevent or minimize damage to cells with anti-oxidants, vitamins C and E and are delicious.
  • Fiber –Oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat bread, fruits, leafy green and dark colored vegetables and legumes will help regulate digestion and ease constipation, control blood sugar, lower the risk of diabetes and control obesity.

  • Fatty fish –Salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines are high in omega-3 fatty acids and will help prevent a stroke or heart disease

  • Olive oil – This helps increase anti-oxidants, lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) while increasing your good cholesterol (HDL)

  • Yogurt – It helps with digestion, adds calcium and protein.

  • Tomatoes –Have lycopene, which has proved to help with prostate cancer and lung cancer. Cooking them is better than eating them raw.

  • Red wine – This can help lower bad cholesterol, ease blood clots and lower blood pressure with one drink per day for women and two for men.

  • Nuts – They contain omega-3 and a high amount of protein. Limit the amount you eat to about an ounce unsalted five times a week.

  • Dark chocolate – The flavanols in this help blood vessels function.
